  • The Alliance would like to thank The Lawson Center of Bemus Point for hosting our Annual Member Meeting on May 14, and all those who attended. Click here to view our Annual Report and Presentation, delivered by Executive Director Randall Perry.
    • Click here to view updates from the Alliance’s independent lake consultant GEI Consultants, who also presented at the May meeting.  
  • On May 5, 2026 the Chautauqua Lake Partnership working with Ready Scout, LLC applied the herbicide Clearcast to target invasive curly-leaf pondweed across approximately 80 acres of the lake. Click here to view a map of the treatment areas.
  • The Chautauqua Lake Association recently completed its lakewide spring debris cleanup, began stationing boat stewards at public launches, and commenced its plant harvesting and near-shore cleanup operations. Click here to view the latest CLA workplans and work reports.

Upcoming

  • The CLP and Ready Scout are continuing to work with the Department of Environmental Conservation to determine herbicide treatments for invasive Eurasian watermilfoil.
  • CLP, CLA, and the Alliance’s independent advisor GEI Consultants are working closely to assess plant conditions and coordinate the establishment of navigation channels using herbicides and mechanical management based on actual conditions and DEC permits. 
  • The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy recently announced its transition to become the Everwild Land Trust. Please click here to visit their website for more details.
  • The Alliance Board will hold its next work session in June.
