The Chautauqua Lake and Watershed Management Alliance has selected EcoLogic LLC to develop a 5 Year Implementation Strategy for prioritizing both long term watershed based mitigation projects as well as annual in-lake management actions within an identified timeline in order to maximize limited local resources. These projects will range from stream bank stabilizations and urban storm water management (for reduction of excess nutrient loads) to annual in-lake maintenance and management of vegetation, near-shore and floating debris. After receiving 4 responses to the RFP, and conducting 2 interviews, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to select EcoLogic LLC based on their qualifications, experience, and approach. The aquatic and watershed science consulting firm is no stranger to New York State lake issues and will provide independent facilitation amongst the varied stakeholders who are passionate about Chautauqua Lake. The development of the strategy will involve input from all stakeholders and members of the Alliance. The process will build from our existing watershed and in-lake guidance documents and past studies so as not to duplicate the extensive work that has already been completed for Chautauqua Lake.
